The showers and bathroom were old, but extremely clean. A convenience store and gas station is located just above the campground. There is no entry gate and anyone can easily come down into the campground from Big Cove road above. Based on the wording on the signs, I suspect they have had some problems in the past with rowdy and destructive campers. Staff is on top of things and very protective of their campground and facilities, as evidenced by all the signs. The campground is very well and strictly managed. Security drives around throughout the day and evening. Very quiet with only the sound of the river (which was quite loud after all the recent rains!). Weather was mild, so we never heard a generator. Although primarily an RV campground, we had site A1 as soon as you enter the campground, so we did not have an RV right next to us. Spent 2 nights at River Valley tent camping.
